Hotel Leopalace - Sapporo City, Japan

Breakfast coupns and access cards
We were at Sapporo last February. It was winter's peak season so most hotels near Odori Park where the yearly Snow Festival is being held are fully booked. The wife has recommended this hotel to me due to good reviews.

I agreed. We stayed here for 5 nights.

Bed and pyjama - notice the air humidifier beside the bed

Handy Phone in Japanese - wifi password is shown on flat screen

Restaurant at the second floor

To make this simpler I'll just enumerate the Pros and Cons in staying here.

Pros:
- Spacious room
- Secured ingress due to key card at the entrance and elevator
- Wide selection of breakfast and spacious dining area
- In-house restaurant
- One block away from Tanokikuji shopping arcade - you'll find it at the back area of the hotel
- Aeon convenience shop at the ground floor but outside hotel's building
- 7-eleven at the opposite road
- Individual room temperature setting
- Toiletries and amenities such as disposable slippers, pyjamas are replaced and replenished daily
- Portable air purifier / humidifier inside
- Comfy bed
- Small fridge
- Light switches are located at the headboard
- 2 blocks away from Odori Park
- Nice and polite hotel and restaurant staff

Cons:
- 10 min walk from Odori Station exit 1 - exit 1 is at the farthest end of the station
- Handy phone is set at Japanese
- No bottled water
- Movies are available but mostly are Japanese

During winter time, it could be arduous to walk from the train station up to this hotel. However, considering the other factors such as spacious room and complete amenities I would recommend this hotel in case you can bear the harsh Sapporo winter.
