Queen Margarette Hotel Main Domoit - Lucena City, Quezon

First thing first, there are two Queen Margarette Hotels in Lucena City, Quezon. One is the main hotel located along Domoit road while the other one is located at the downtown.

It was our first time to travel to Lucena City, my wife and parents were with me to attend my cousin's wedding, so I used Waze to guide me to Queen Margarette Hotel. Unbeknownst to me, the first Queen Margarette Hotel I selected was at the downtown area of Lucena City. The wife's intuition saved us precious minutes. She was the one who booked our rooms through Agoda and knew that there were two Queen Margarette Hotels and obviously we were going towards the hotel located at the center of Lucena City. So I parked along the shoulder of the main hiway and shifted my GPS to Google Map and fortunately Queen Margarette Hotel Domoit appeared on top of the list. Anyway, to make this short, we were able to reach the correct hotel after 4 hours travel.

The hotel looks fine and modern from outside. The actual hotel building is separate from another building which houses the hotel's different functions rooms, restaurant and a bar.

Parking is not a problem since they have a wide and secured open area inside the hotel compound where I left my car overnight.

Sadly, the two Queen Bed Junior Suites that we booked were not yet available since we arrived an hour earlier than check in time which is 2:00pm; the same time the wedding ceremony starts. We need at least a room so we can change to our semi-formal attire; we accepted the reception's offer to exchange one of our booked Junior Suites to an available twin room. My mother gladly volunteered to stay in the twin room which by the way is also spacious - I knew she wanted to sleep solo since my father snore loudly, haha - while the wife and I waited for our room to be released after an hour.

Upon check in we were give a keycard and breakfast coupon for two for each room.

View from our balcony

The room is indeed spacious and newly refurbished. The window type ac is working fine. Basic toiletries were provided including disposable slippers. 2 complimentary small bottled water greeted us. Huge and comfortable bed, wide flat screen, telephone set, corner sofa, study table and massive cabinets are some of the creatures' comforts inside the room. Bedding and towels are fairly pristine too. Sadly, there is no coffee or tea making facility and the unused small fridge is visibly corroded.

The wedding (dinner) reception was held at one of the function rooms of the hotel. After the reception, the wife and I rested for a while and changed our clothes then proceeded to King's Bar. It is just beside the function room where the reception was held. We stayed there for a couple of hours and enjoyed the acoustic live band; soon afterwards, some of my cousins also came. After 3 shots of Chivas we called it a night and walked back to our room.

I am on a diet, LOL

Breakfast is from 7:00am to 10:00am at the restaurant near the reception area. We were all satisfied with the breakfast. They have an omelette corner where you can have your omelette cooked in any way you want it and would be brought to your table as well. You can enjoy typical Filipino breakfast such as fried/garlic rice, corned beef, ham, (Lucban) longganisa and fried dried fish. They also have breads, cheese, fruits and pancakes. Brewed coffee and juices are readily available.

Check in and check out are flawless though don't expect early check-in. Local staffs are courteous and polite.

Thus, if you are after a spacious and comfy room with decent breakfast selection in Lucena City then you won't regret booking at this hotel.
